Recarburizer Using Importance

Carburant is an indispensable additive in iron and steel smelting. Its use can save a large amount of iron ore usage, increase the use of scrap steel and scrap iron, reduce production costs, and save non-renewable resources.

Carbon and sulfur are important elements that determine the quality of steel specifications. Iron products with a carbon content above 1.7% are called cast iron, iron mouths with a carbon content below 1.7% are called steel, and steels with carbon content above 0.6% are called high carbon steel. Steels with a carbon content of 0.25-0.6% are called medium carbon steels, steels with a carbon content of less than 0.25% are called low carbon steels, and carbons with a carbon content of less than 0.04% are called industrial pure iron. Carbon plays an important role in the performance of steel. With the increase of carbon content, the hardness and strength of steel will increase, but the plasticity and toughness are decreasing. Conversely, the content of carbon decreases, and its hardness and strength also decrease. Toughness and plasticity increase.

Sulfur will degrade the quality of steel, reduce the mechanical properties of steel, corrosion resistance and weldability. Especially the sulfur in steel, if it exists in the state of iron sulfide, because of its low melting point, it will cause the hot brittle phenomenon of the steel, that is, thermal deformation, cracks will occur during high temperature work, affecting the quality and service life of the product. So the lower the sulfur content in steel, the better. The sulfur content in ordinary steel should be less than 0.05%, the sulfur content in tool steel should be less than 0.045%, and the sulfur content in high-quality steel should be less than 0.02%. In view of the important role of carbon and sulfur content in the quality and performance of steel, the carbon and sulfur content in steel is measured. Both can be converted into gas, which is the basis of analysis of carbon and sulfur by combustion method.
