The desulfurizing agent for the steelmaking is generally in the white granule powder, the particle size is 0-3mm or 0-5mm, it can be used in the powder directly or feeding in the shape of cored wire, the diameter of cored wire can be 13mm.

The main usage of the desulfurizing agent is the CaO, the exit of sulfur in the steelmaking is in the FeS, the CaO reacts with the FeS to form the stable CaS, the CaS is not only stable in the slag of steelmaking but also does not react with the molten steel, then can remove the sulfur well.

As we all know that the calcium silicon and silicon barium calcium etc can all be used as desulfurizing agent, the calcium silicon has the model such as calcium 30%min silicon 60%min, calcium 28%min silicon 55%min, the silicon barium calcium have several different element contents for choice, and can accept custom, added into the steelmaking, they can be used as deoxidizer at first, then in the form of CaO to react with the FeS. The calcium silicon alloy is widely used in the production of high-quality steel, low-carbon steel, stainless steel and other special alloys such as nickel-based alloys and titanium-based alloys. Compared with silicon calcium alloy, using silicon barium calcium alloy as calcium resource add to liquid steel, even if the added quantity of calcium is half of the quantity in silicon calcium alloy, but the calcium content in liquid steel will be double more or less than silicon calcium alloy, this can indicate the silicon barium calcium can not only deoxidizer, but also can improve the efficiency to deal with calcium in liquid steel.

Compared with the desulfurizing agent, though the calcium silicon and calcium barium silicon have the desulfurization effect, but the effect may not better, the desulfurizing agent is in the element content of CaO, when added into the steelmaking, it will not react with the oxygen just react with the FeS directly, also the size of desulfurizing agent is in the powder but calcium silicon and calcium barium silicon is in the lump,then will have better effect than the calcium silicon, calcium barium silicon.
