RE ferrosilicon alloy

RE is a typical metal element with strong chemical activity. It can interact with almost all elements and form extremely stable oxides, sulfides and halides with oxygen, sulfur and halogens.< /P> RE-ferrosilicon-alloy

RE can form a series of compounds with iron and magnesium, the RE-Ferro-Alloy that have been used in industrial production in my country mainly include RE ferrosilicon alloy, RE silicon magnesium alloy and RE ferrosilicon magnesium alloy.

In cast iron, the RE is used as spheroidizing agent for nodular cast iron, it can prevent interference elements form destroying the spheroidization, thus producing various grades of nodular cast iron. RE have strong affinity with oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, etc., and can play a role in deoxidizing, desullfuizing, and changing the shape an distribution of inclusions in steel-making, thereby significantly improving the impact roughness, strength, and harden-ability of steel.

The production methods of RE alloys mainly include electrosilicothermal method, carbon reduction method, etc. Electrosilicothermal method is mainly used to produce RE ferrosilicon alloy, the intermittent operation method is adopted in the electric arc furnace, using lime as a solvent and 75% ferrosilicon for reduction. The carbon reduction method produces alloys with low RE content. The produced alloys are often used for magnesium to produce RE ferrosilicon magnesium alloys. The carbon reduction method is used to produce RE ferrosilicon alloys with RE6.5%~7.0%.

The RE ferrosilicon magnesium alloy is prepared by adding a RE ferrosilicon alloy to magnesium ingots. That is, the RE ferrosilicon alloy of the required composition is refined in an electric furnace, and the required magnesium ingot is crushed into small pieces of about 10mm before being discharged. Put it in a hot alloy tank. The magnesium content is usually 10% of the alloy weight. Then, the alloy with a temperature of 1200~1280℃ is rushed into the alloy tank slowly and then quickly, and immediately stirred with a special tool. Until it is confirmed that there is no solid magnesium mass, the composition of the RE ferrosilicon alloy obtained in this way is RE6.0%~6.5%, Mg7.0%~8.5%, Si40%~43%, Fe38%~40%, smelting 1ton RE ferrosilicon magnesium alloys consume about 0.1 ton of magnesium ingots.
