MSDS of ferrosilicon

ferrosilicon-MSDS

MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), the chemical safety data sheet, can also be translated as chemical safety data sheet or chemical safety data sheet is used by chemical manufacturers and importers to clarify the physical and chemical properties (such as pH, flash point, flammability, reactivity, etc.) of chemicals and possible hazards to their health (e.g. carcinogenicity, teratogenicity, etc.)

In European countries, material safety technology / data sheet MSDS also known as safety technology / data sheet SDS (Safety Data Sheet). The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) uses the SDS terminology, where as many countries in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Asia use MSDS terminology.

In the MSDS of ferrosilicon(FeSi), the ferrosilicon’s Catalog Codes is 72022900, same with its HS code, and its CAS number is 8049-17-0.

Ferrosilicon is not flammable. But according to our exporting experiences, there are mainly two different opinions on the flammable of ferrosilicon, one insists it is flammable and the CIQ documents must show “wet combustible materials” icon, another insists that it is not flammable, and can exported like the common cargo.

In the new year of 2017, there are some changes on the policy of ferrosilicon exporting, more information please refer our former article “What is the HS Code of Ferrosilicon”
